Living on the Canal on a onside Mooring has not been to bad. I’m in a semi rural small Town. Not seeing a que of Boats head to liverpool has been strange. The first week of Lockdown was like the Tour De France / London Marthron on the narrow Towpath opposite. Normally the Towpath gets on average 12 people and Hour walk this stretch. Usually people with dogs or the odd Cyclist, ramblers this time of year. CRT put up signage far to late but people hardly we’re at risk as outdoors in Fresh Air and getting Vitaman D from the Sunlight.
Apart from no food deliveries and to many people about to walk my Dog and Pubs being closed and not being able to Work. Lockdown has not made me depressed. Being self employed and denied a Grant does not help as lock down has cost me 3k. And hearing 900,000 Jobs have gone is pretty grim. I think the Lockdown was to late and did not shelter the vunrable. I’m pretty sure over Xmas I had Cov-19 as very ill with the exact symptoms. As it was spreading in UK since November. The medical world did not know anything outside China then. I have been Tea Total for three months now.Shockingly and can not wait6 for Pubs to reopen and drink some fine Ales.
I have not posted much in a while but quite a lot on The Canal Pirates Instagram And a bit on Twitter. Captain Jack Spaniel turned one on the 5th of May. Hes now his full size and has a lovely long coat. Working Cocker Spaniels are nuts. But in a lovely way. The only thing I regret is that hes not been able to play with other Dogs in the Park due to Social Distancing. The term Merry Cocker is very accurate, a very social chap is Jack and loves people. Far to intellgent for his own good and full of energy. Glad I bought him as no one wanted him as a Pup as not breed standard. Stuff standards.
I have also been selling some stuff on Ebay if you would like to support my blog please visit https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/thecanalpirate
